Rudiments are the most simple versions of moves with all of its basic facts included.
By working with rudiments we study the coordination of the movements. It is the conditioning of the forms with their rhythms.
At the same time we learn how to learn a language. In any language, written, spoken or body language expressing vocab is the toughest bottle neck.
Moves must become part of muscle memory. Repeating the same motion over and over we develop automaticity and realize the complexity of a technique. Only by understanding the most important parts of a move, one can change nuances without changing the meaning of it.
